The pomegranate holds a special significance in Persian culture. On Yalda night, the pomegranate serves as a joyful reminder that the reemergence of the sun, light, goodness and hope are only but a night away.
Yalda Queen is made with pure pomegranate juice and purée, some salt and dry hopped with mosaic + barbe rouge hops. It’s a pomegranate gose!
Yalda Night is the winter solstice and takes place on Dec 21st. It is the longest night of the year for anyone in the Northern Hemisphere. In Iran, people stay up all night telling stories, singing, dancing, reading poetry, eating delicious/symbolic fruits and filling the home with family + friends.
Every day after Yalda, the days get longer and the nights get shorter. The significance of Yalda is to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness. This year, the significance is even more layered.
That’s why I have decided to name this beer 𝗬𝗔𝗟𝗗𝗔 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗘𝗡. It celebrates every woman who has fought through the darkness to find the light.
