France’s Crémants are sparkling wines made in the same way as champagne, but not in the Champagne region, so they don’t command the same premium price, and offer terrific value. That’s especially so with Crémant de Bourgogne, because Burgundy uses the same main grapes (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) as Champagne. This Crémant, made from 100% Chardonnay, shines with depth and finesse, showing notes of white flowers and fresh apple. It is an ideal wine for before dinner or with light appetizers, perfect for turning a weekday into a celebration. Brut Nature means the Tripoz family has added no sugar whatsoever, which gives it great elegance and lightness and bone-dry finish. The Chardonnay is grown biodynamically and made as a natural wine, with no adulteration. It is aged at least 2 years on lees, longer than some Champagnes, so the bubbles are tiny and delicate.
