Macon-Loché Cuvee du Clocher is biodynamic, clean, zesty, bright Chardonnay from this lesser-known village of the Maconais. As the name suggests, this wine is as clear as a bell – lovely clean fruit, taught minerality and a splash of creaminess to round it out. This wine is fermented and matured in tanks so as not to mar the sense of terroir, then aged in very old oak barrels. A really excellent example of one of Burgundy’s sub-regions, and of Chardonnay’s incredible ability to adapt to its surroundings. Perfect for shellfish or as an aperitif.
